A window manager that boosts productivity by snapping windows into predefined zones, like a Japanese bento box organizing meals.

âBentoBox is a new way of wrangling windows on macOS,â inspired by FancyZones on Windows, offering a fresh approach to window management
Window management on macOS has always been a bit of a pain. While there are many apps that offer window management, there wasnât one that offered the grid-based approach, inspired by FancyZones on Windows.
We hope you find BentoBox as useful as we do. Weâre convinced that itâs the best way to manage windows on macOS.
Building your own BentoBox starts with drawing a few lines to define the zones where windows will snap. From there, you can use your touchpad, mouse or keyboard to move windows into the zones.
Weâre excited to share BentoBox with you. We are very much in the early days of development, so weâd love to hear your feedback. Look forward to more features rolling out weekly.

If right click isnât easily accessible, you can simply hold the Shift key while dragging a window to display the zones. This alternative method makes it easy to snap windows to your custom layout when using a trackpad.
Weâve submitted BentoBox to the App Store. However, weâve seen conflicting information about whether Apple will add apps that utilize the Accessibility API to the App Store. BentoBox uses this API to set up zones and snap other apps into your defined zones. Meanwhile, you can download BentoBox directly from our website.
BentoBox saves a unique layout for each monitor. When you switch to a monitor with a saved layout, BentoBox automatically loads that specific arrangement, ensuring a seamless experience across multiple displays.
No, there is no limit to the number of zones you can create. However, each zone must be at least 100 pixels wide and 100 pixels tall to ensure usability and readability.
Currently, BentoBox supports creating one custom layout per monitor. However, we plan on adding support for multiple layouts per monitor in a future update, providing even greater flexibility for your workspace organization.
Yes, when you hover your mouse near the common edge of two or more adjacent zones, all the zones will activate. This allows you to snap a window across the combined area of the selected zones, automatically resizing it to fit the minimum rectangle that contains all the activated zones.
